All-metal lock nuts are nuts with a crowned top that is crimped to create the locking feature. These nuts are hardened to a Grade C strength level, which is equivalent to 150000 psi/min proof load strength. Grade C nuts are also recommended for use with A-325 structural bolts. Lock nuts provide excellent resistance to loosening in high vibration applications.
